Samsung Sch-r510 Review – a Review of the Samsung Sch-r510 Cellular Phone

The Samsung SCH-R510 is nicknamed “The Wafer” due to its slim design. At 0.31” thin, the uncharacteristically thin phone is packed with plenty of features.

At 4.5” tall X 2” inches wide and 2.5 oz, the Samsung SCH-R510 features a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth wireless technology and an external microSD memory slot. The phone also features a surprisingly large display at 1.8”, supporting 220 X 176 pixels and 262K colors – great for browsing through the simple menus and viewing photos and graphics. Additionally, the SCH-R510 allows you to change the backlighting time and the font size and style.

The 1.3 megapixel camera takes pictures in four resolutions (1,280×960, 640×480, 320×240, and 176×144) and features numerous quality and lighting settings – including a night mode, brightness and white balance controls for the best quality snapshots. The camera also features multishot to take rapid photos with one click – as well as a self-timer to take a shot of yourself and several other functions. The embedded camcorder allows you to take clips with sound for up to ten minutes. With its external microSD drive, the SCH-R510 allows for additional space to store photos and video – as well as music.

The MP3 player allows you to play any song you choose – as well as assign different tunes to contacts in your phonebook. The WAP 2.0 browser allows you to download music as well as surf the web from anywhere to access sports, weather or news information as you need it. Send e-mails or text messages using the SCH-R510’s advanced SMS, EMS and MMS text messaging capabilities for additional audio, photos and animations. You can also send 10-second video clips to friends or family for added use of your messaging capabilities.

With Bluetooth wireless technology you can also use your phone SCH-R510 to go virtually hands-free. What more could you ask for in a sleek and stylish phone?

That said, although the Samsung SCH-R510 is definitely unique to its wafer-thin size, the phone also has no shortage of impressive features.

The phone’s high color internal 65K TFT display features QQVGA resolution, and the external screen features a resolution of 96 by 64 pixels. The phone also features a VGA camera – complete with digital zoom and a wide range of shot modes – including timer shot, self mode and multi shot. The camera also supports motion JPEG + AMR video recording, making it possible to capture those all-important moments without having to fumble with a bulky camcorder.

The Samsung SGH-E316 comes with a 40 polyphonic ringtones and 3D sound technology for SMAF and SMF files. The phone measures 3.3” high, 1.8” wide and 0.9” thick when folded. At 3.0 ounces, the SGH-E316 is hefty for a modern mobile phone. However, along with this extra weight comes sturdiness and quality service.

Both voicemail and voice memo are supported on the Samsung SGH-E316, and enhanced SMS comes with the phone. This service includes EMS and image messaging; allowing the user to say with a picture what might really otherwise take one thousand words.

Further, the mobile phone operates on the GSM 900 and GSM 1900 MHz bands. The phone also uses the CSD and GPRS Class 8 network protocols to connect and transfer information. The phone’s standard battery lasts for a minimum of 2.5 hours if the user is talking, and a minimum of 200 hours on standby. The unusually large electronic phonebook holds up to 2000 alphanumeric entries, and the phone almost functions as a personal agenda in itself, with built in calculator, alarm and calendar.

As one can see, the Samsung SGH-E316 is a great phone for media and chatting alike.
